Chelsea agree €15 million deal to sign Brazilian talent Angelo Gabriel

As per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reached an agreement to acquire the services of young Brazilian talent Angelo Gabriel.

The deal will see the Premier League giants pay Santos a fee of €15 million for the 2004-born player. It is expected that Gabriel will be sent out on loan to gain valuable experience.

Chelsea are actively exploring the transfer market with the aim of building a strong squad for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Their primary focus remains on reinforcing the first team, especially after several departures were finalized during the initial weeks of the transfer window.

Chelsea’s squad is undergoing significant changes, with several players departing. Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Edouard Mendy have moved to Saudi Arabia, while Kai Havertz is set to join Arsenal and Ruben Loftus-Cheek is nearing a deal with AC Milan.

Mason Mount is strongly linked with a potential move to Manchester United, and more exits are expected in the coming days.

In terms of incoming transfers, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Villarreal for striker Nicolas Jackson, and they are also targeting Moises Caicedo and other players after June 30.

The focus for the club at the moment is primarily on sales rather than signings. However, Chelsea are also keen on building for the future, particularly under the ownership of Todd Boehly, who has shown a special interest in signing promising young talents worldwide.

This summer, the club has set its sights on Brazilian talent Angelo Gabriel from Santos, with a fee of €15 million agreed upon. Fabrizio Romano has reported on this deal and also mentioned Barcelona’s interest in the player.

Santos has requested that Barcelona match Chelsea’s offer for Angelo Gabriel within the next 48 hours, but Barcelona seems ready to withdraw from the race, leaving Chelsea with a clear path to complete the deal.

The Blues intends to send the 18-year-old on loan to gain valuable experience, as he is still considered inexperienced for Pochettino’s first-team plans. The loan move would be beneficial for his career development, and upon his return, he could potentially compete for a spot in Chelsea’s main squad.

Gabriel is not the only young talent recently signed by Chelsea, as they have also finalized a deal for Dujuan Richards from the Jamaican side Phoenix All Stars.

Although the agreement was reached in March, the player will need to wait a few years to join the club in England due to South American regulations regarding players under the age of 18.
