Chelsea 4-2 Leicester City: Match Report | FA Cup 2024

Chelsea secured a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup after a victory over Leicester City by 4-2. The Blues will now play the weekend of April 20–21 in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley.

The Blues dominated the first half, scoring two goals through Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer. The first goal was scored by Marc Cucurella assisted by Nicholas Jackson in the 13th minute of the match.

A clumsy challenge by Fatawu on Raheem Sterling in the box created a chance for Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling to soccer and put Chelsea two goals ahead in the 26th minute but a great save was done by Stolarczyk (Leicester City goalkeeper). The second goal was scored by Cole Palmer assisted by Raheem Sterling in 45+1 minute.

With a great shot from Stephy Mavididi and an own goal from Axel Disasi, Leicester battled back to tie the score in the second half. The match moved in Chelsea’s favor when Callum Doyle of Leicester was shown a red card. After that, Carney Chukwuemeka, a substitute from Mauricio Pochettino, scored the goal in stoppage time with an assist from Cole Palmer. Noni Madueke then completed the comeback to secure Chelsea’s victory in the FA Cup quarter-final.

According to us, Cole Palmer was the player of the match as he played a crucial role in Chelsea’s victory and helped Chelsea build a two-goal lead in the first half of the game by scoring a well-placed goal. His importance continued in the second half when he assisted Carney Chukwuemeka, who scored a crucial goal.
