Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal: 3 Massive Talking Points From The Game At The Bridge

Chelsea endured 2-2 draw with fellow London rivals as both sides shared the spoil at the London arena. It promised entertainment in all ramification as we saw four classy goals in the game most especially from the visitors Arsenal.

It looked like Mikel Arteta learnt his lessons from the first leg defeat to Chelsea making some technical adjustment for Arsenal as we saw with fireworks from the Gunners against Frank Lampard and co.

Following the 2-2 stalemate at the Bridge, we evaluate the three massive talking points from the fixture.

Arsenal’s Winning Mentality

The Gunners were terrific against Chelsea as they struck twice to peg Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at home.

It was a special occasion for Chelsea to take advantage for a top four finish but it was not to be as Arsenal sparked up into life thanks to the counter attacking goal spear headed by Gabriel Martinelli which he finished superbly to his side benefit.

It was a show of character and class as Arsenal produced a performance worthy of note in the current season.

This may well signifies a new wave of mentality as Arsenal’s new man Mikel Arteta continues to the Arsenal side at the moment.

Life Line For Manchester United

As Chelsea were leading into the game, a win would have taken then 8 points clear to their advantage as they lead Manchester United with 5 points.

But falling to a 2-2 draw instead, this gives Manchester United an another opportunity to intensify their top four push.

The draw earned Chelsea a point, resulting in six points ahead of United. However a win over Burnley can narrow the gap down to only three points.

Chelsea’s inconsistent form in the season could be a big issue as United lie in wait with a big game against Sean Dyches Burnley side at Old Trafford.

Chelsea Were Defensive Poor

The Blues was poor on the defensive despite the goals coming from players within the defensive department of the team.

Kante on his own summed up Chelsea’s defensive performance with an outrageous slip on the floor as Martinelli breeze past him to the goal. This was due to poor correlation at the back for the Blues as they paid the price with 2 goals and point lost in the process.
