According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to make a move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on a free transfer.
Despite receiving strong interest from Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, the Spanish defender chose to extend his contract with Chelsea last summer.

In a gesture of respect for Azpilicueta’s long-standing commitment to the club, Chelsea are prepared to allow him to leave on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old Spaniard has been with the club since 2012 when Chelsea acquired him from Olympique Marseille for approximately €8 million. Throughout his tenure, Azpilicueta has been regarded as one of the most cost-effective signings in the Premier League era.
Having amassed over 500 appearances for Chelsea since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Azpilicueta’s 11-year journey with the club is nearing its end.

The Chelsea captain has agreed to join Atletico Madrid on a two-year contract, binding him to the Civitas Metropolitano until 2025.
Despite being in the later stages of his career, Azpilicueta still possesses considerable abilities to offer on the grandest stage, and he is poised to embark on a fresh chapter with Atletico in his native Spain.
As he departs Chelsea, Azpilicueta leaves behind a remarkable collection of trophies, including two Premier League titles, one Champions League victory, and two Europa League triumphs.
Chelsea have already secured a replacement for him by acquiring Malo Gusto from Olympique Lyonnais during the January transfer window.
