Carlo Ancelotti pushing for Real Madrid to sign Antonio Rudiger

Carlo Ancelotti is understood to be pushing for Real Madrid to sign Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer this coming summer with the Italian coach keen on the Chelsea defender.

Rudiger’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer hangs in the balance with the Germany international closing in on sealing a move elsewhere his contract runs out.

Real Madrid have long been backed to be frontrunners in the race to land Rudiger’s signature on a Bosman deal with the La Liga giants keeping close tabs on the player’s long drawn out contract impasse in the English capital.

According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Marca, it is claimed that the Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti held a meeting with Florentino Perez last Friday to ask for reinforcements at the back with Rudiger’s name emerging on the shortlist.

The defender’s high wage demands had put off the Real Madrid camp in the past but with Rudiger’s agent lowering the asking wage, Real could be enticed to revive their longstanding interest in the Chelsea contract rebel.
