Brighton have reportedly slapped an eyewatering price tag of £100 million on Chelsea target Moisés Caicedo after the Blues’ latest attempt to sign the midfielder.
The south-coast outfit have been reluctant to part ways with their star first-team regular except for a hefty fee with Chelsea keen to revamp the midfield department at Graham Potter’s disposal by bringing in his former Brighton player.
According to a report from The Times, it is claimed that the Seagulls have set a £100 million asking price for green-lighting a move for Caicedo to west London as Brighton are not keen to lose another mainstay in the January transfer window.
Chelsea’s interest in the 21-year-old Equouar international has been growing with the club looking to rebuild its engine room as veterans N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are widely expected to leave in the summer when their contracts expire.
The Stamford Bridge camp are said to be hopeful of convincing Kante to pen extended terms but uncertainty continues to persist over Jorginho’s future with the midfield maestro linked with a return to his homeland.
