Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard has announced that midfielder Billy Gilmour is suffering from a knee injury and three weeks will be required to make his comeback in the squad from injury. He has been out with a knee injury since the 3-2 win against Crystal Palace last July.
Over the transition into the senior team at Stamford Bridge. the 19-year-old player has been celebrated for achieving what he wants in life. He has featured in a total of 11 games for Chelsea in the 2019-2020 season.
The Blues’ coach, Frank Lampard also speaks about how Billy has been increasing his intensity in the recovery process at Chelsea. He is too excited to see his performance after he will join the squad of the senior team.
The Chelsea manager Lampard also makes it clear that Billy Gilmour’s undergoing knee injury at Selhurst Park can affect his performance to some extent. The Scottish international is putting up hard work to be back in the first team so he is work on his fitness and health alongside.
Furthermore, Lampard expressed his disappointment at that time when Gilmour suffered the injury to his knee. Lampard held a conversation with Gilmour that night to give him emotional support. As per reports, the injury broke Billy although he was a strong guy as he just had a breakthrough in the squad.
Frank Lampard said as per Sky Sports, “Billy’s working well, he’s probably three weeks away from his return. He’s working outside on his own with the physios still, we hope that he’ll integrate with either ourselves or the Under-23s to get some training minutes.”
“After that, he concluded hopefully three or four weeks are well after the International break. Everyone in the team is curious about his performance”, he added.
“Billy has given me as much pleasure as anyone. When you look at Billy, he can be quite slight in terms of his size, he’s quite quiet, young and polite, but then you train day-to-day with him through the season.”
