Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandes is reportedly frustrated over his failed move to Chelsea who have walked away from the agreement to sign him in the January window.
It was understood that personal terms were agreed upon over a move to Stamford Bridge for the 21-year-old Fernandez with the Argentina international emerging as a priority on the transfer front for Graham Potter’s Blues.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that Fernandez is concerned about missing out on making a transfer to the west London giants with the player keen on joining Chelsea from Benfica.
Chelsea’s key midfield duo Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are both out of contract at the end of the season with the veterans expected to move on as Potter remains on the search for a fresh pair of legs to reinforce his options in the centre of the park.
Fernandez was tipped to be the viable replacement for the outgoing Kante with the former’s displays during the 2022 World Cup with the champions Argentina earning him rave reviews.
