Bayern Munich are actively seeking a new goalkeeper, and their target is Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, as reported by Sport1. The manager of Bayern, Thomas Tuchel, is said to have expressed interest in acquiring the Spanish goalkeeper.
Tuchel is familiar with Arrizabalaga from his time managing Chelsea, where he utilized him as a backup to Edouard Mendy. He has now suggested the keeper to the higher-ups at Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga giants are actively searching for a new goalkeeper due to Manuel Neuer’s delayed return following a leg injury.
The German international recently came back from a prolonged injury that caused him to miss the latter part of the previous season. However, after a brief period of training, it became apparent that he wasn’t ready to resume play.
Neuer’s absence might extend for several weeks or even months, prompting Bayern Munich to explore options in the market for another goalkeeper.
They are set to lose Yann Sommer, who is close to joining Inter Milan, creating a shortage of goalkeeper options for the team. Hence, they have now turned their attention to the Chelsea star keeper.

Arrizabalaga made a return to the Chelsea first team last season after Tuchel’s departure.
Under the management of Graham Potter, he was reinstated as the primary choice and showcased his abilities by securing nine clean sheets in 29 Premier League appearances. He also boasted the highest save percentage in the league.
Despite this resurgence, there were instances where Arrizabalaga showed weaknesses, particularly in dealing with long shots and conceding goals that a taller goalkeeper might have prevented.
However, these shortcomings have not deterred Bayern’s interest in him. They might consider pursuing the 28-year-old goalkeeper in preparation for the forthcoming season.

Chelsea have secured the services of Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion for £25 million. However, it’s uncertain whether they will allow Arrizabalaga to depart.
The Blues have been attempting to offload Arrizabalaga for a while now, but they have struggled to find interested parties willing to match his substantial salary.
Bayern Munich appears open to the possibility of acquiring him, and a potential deal could gain momentum in the upcoming days.
