Barcelona are believed to be closing in on a pre-agreement with Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante who enters free agency at the end of the 2022-23 season.
The French midfielder’s current terms with Chelsea are set to expire in the summer and the Blues are not expected to concede to Kante’s demands of a three-year extension with a two-year offer on the table.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet SPORT, it is claimed that Kamte, who has featured in only two games for the west Londoners in the current campaign, could be on the move to Camp Nou on a free transfer.
With Barca set to lose their long-serving anchorman in Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong’s future hanging the balance beyond the January window, Kante has been made a priority on the transfer front by the manager Xavi.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will look for reinforcements from the market to line up a replacement for the outgoing Kante with Ajax maestro Edson Alvarez said to be a top name on Graham Potter’s shopping list for the coming transfer windows.
