Aurelien Tchouameni hints Chelsea over a potential summer transfer

In Chelsea’s pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, the Frenchman has thrown a curveball to Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly.

Aurelien Tchouameni, a Chelsea transfer target, has updated Todd Boehly on his future plans ahead of the summer transfer window. The  Stamford Bridge has been prominently connected with the 22-year-old.

This season, the AS Monaco midfielder has appeared 33 times in Ligue 1, assisting on four goals. Tchouameni’s outstanding performances have helped his team close in on Champions League qualification.

His outstanding performances have piqued the interest of a number of big European clubs, including the Blues. In the summer, Tchouameni was on the west London side’s transfer wish list.

Nonetheless, according to The Athletic, the board decided against signing the France international because he needed another year of growth.

The German coach understands to have spent more time monitoring the teenager than any other club and has now been forced to pay the price for failing to sign Tchouameni earlier.

Liverpool are interested in snatching the Frenchman from Chelsea to replace James Milner’s decline, according to French outlet FootMercato

Though it appears that the Monaco star will leave this summer, he spoke about his possible departure and cast doubt on whether a transfer is on the cards.

If the £83 million midfielders qualify for the Champions League with the French team, he claims he may stay put after scoring a brace against Lille in the French league.

“I am contracted here until 2024 with the option until 2025. We’ll see what the future has in store for me. The transfer window is always a period where lots of things can happen. Yeah, why not? The elimination last year stuck in my throat. Playing Champions League football with Monaco isn’t something that would displease me.”

As reported in DailyMail, Boehly, who agreed to a £4.25 billion deal to acquire Chelsea ahead of the match against Wolves, would ‘push for A-list stars’ this summer to highlight the club’s new era.

With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen about to leave at the conclusion of their contracts, Tuchel’s team is already playing catch-up, giving the LA Dodgers owner a reason to splurge the cash.
