AS Roma plan to sign Chelsea FC outcast Victor Moses on loan for next season

Chelsea FC loanee Victor Moses’ stay in Italy could be extended further by a year with AS Roma interested in signing the wing-back on loan next season. The Nigerian international is currently on a sixmonth loan deal at Inter Milan.

Moses’ temporary stint at the Serie A giants, however, has been limited to just 14 appearances. A thigh injury sustained by the 29-year old has curtailed his minutes on the pitch for the Nerazzurri. With just six starts to his name at the Italian side, Moses’ future at the club remains uncertain.

Antonio Conte’s side are reported to be reluctant on activating their option to buy the Nigerian international following the end of his loan stint. The player has done little to impress his former Chelsea FC boss Conte at the Nerazzurri to warrant a spot in the club’s first-team squad next season.

However, recent reports indicate AS Roma’s desire of securing Moses’ services this summer on a temporary basis. The Serie A club are believed to be looking towards making a one-year loan deal approach for the 29-year old.

With just a year left on his current deal with the Blues, Moses may well be heading towards the exit door in the current transfer window. Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard will have no issues in sanctioning another loan spell away from Stamford Bridge for the player.

Since signing for the Blues in 2012, Moses has failed to cement his spot in the club’s squad. During the course of his eight-year spell at Chelsea FC, the 29-year old has been shipped out on a number of loan stints. He had played for Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United, and Fenerbahçe before signing for Inter Milan in January earlier this year.

Lampard could even look towards cashing in on the player this summer if a reasonable bid arrives Chelsea FC’s way. However, with Moses set to become a free agent next summer, clubs are unlikely to be in the market for the 29-year old on a permanent basis.
