As reported by the Metro, Chelsea target Moises Caicedo has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Arsenal. However, the Blues are still interested in hijacking the deal.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had approved a club-record bid of over £70m for the Ecuadorian star during the January transfer window, but the move fell through.
Despite publicly expressing his desire to leave, Brighton refused to sell the player and intends to keep him unless a suitable offer arrives this summer.
Arsenal remains determined to sign Caicedo for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Recent reports suggest that personal terms have been agreed upon between the player and the Gunners.

However, a transfer fee still needs to be negotiated with Brighton, who are aiming to receive at least £80m for the 21-year-old midfielder.
Chelsea has not given up on the possibility of signing Caicedo and is reportedly prepared to offer a higher fee to Brighton compared to Arsenal.
The 21-year-old is scheduled to have discussions with the West Londoners in the coming days to learn about Mauricio Pochettino’s project at the club.

Although Chelsea’s interest remains, Caicedo’s preference is to play in the Champions League, which Arsenal can offer while the Blues are not participating in the competition next season. This makes joining Arsenal a priority for the young midfielder.
