Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has revealed that Liverpool’s front three is the best in the Premier League and the title race will only get tougher as the season progresses.
Morata has endured a really difficult time at Stamford Bridge ever since his move from Spanish outfit Real Madrid last summer. The Spaniard has been struggling with a continuous run of goalscoring form but slowly and finally seems to adapt to life in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old has netted five times in his last six appearances and helped his side to grind out a win against local rivals Crystal Palace at the weekend. Morata netted twice to help the Blues continue their unbeaten streak and has opened up on how unforgiving the Premier League environment is at the moment.
While speaking to the Metro, Morata stated that he would love to be among the top scorers but there is plenty of competition for that race, “Of course I want [to be among the top scorers] but I think it is not the most important thing, If we want to be in a position to fight for the Premier League I need to score many goals, Eden has to score many goals, Olivier has to score many goals and all the attackers, Willian, Pedro, Ross Barkley. We need goals to win. It is not the most important thing [to be top scorer]. Sometimes you play good and you give a lot of things for the team and you don’t score, and it seems like you play bad. In the Premier League, there are the best strikers in the world I think. There is Salah, there is Mane, there is Firmino, Aguero, Kane.”
Morata is finally getting his feet sorted in the English Premier League and it’s good to see him get some form going. He could play a vital role for Chelsea if they are to win silverware this season.
