AC Milan register interest in landing Chelsea striker Timo Werner

AC Milan could emerge as the surprise candidates in the race to sign Chelsea flop Timo Werner this coming summer with the Serie A giants looking to add to their attacking ranks.

The Germany international forward is understood to have already asked the Chelsea management to sanction his departure next June when the transfer window gets underway.

Werner’s fall down the pecking order at the Bridge following his patchy form in front of the goal had given birth to talk that the former RB Leipzig man will look for a move away from the English capital sooner rather than later.

A report from the Spanish news outlet Todo Fichajes has claimed that despite Dortmund and Bayern Munich being tipped to be the early frontrunners in the chase for Werner’s signature, AC Milan are now involved in the contest alongside the German duo.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are suggested to be mulling over dipping into the market once again for attacking reinforcements with Dortmund talisman Erling Haaland the top name on the shopping list for Thomas Tuchel.
