Chelsea FC training sessions were in full swing on Thursday at the club’s Cobham facility ahead of the Blues’ Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich. Hoping to mastermind a spectacular comeback against the Bundesliga giants, Frank Lampard’s men will travel to Germany for the second leg of their Round of 16 tie.
New signing Timo Werner, a former Bundesliga star himself, was seen training with his new club teammates. The 24-year old German international had landed in London just a fortnight ago, however, has adapted to his new surroundings fairly quickly.

The ex-RB Leipzig forward was spotted going up against French powerhouse N’Golo Kante, who has been on the sidelines of late due to a hamstring injury. The 29-year old holding midfielder will hope to make the Chelsea FC starting lineup that takes the pitch at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.
However, despite the rich vein of anticipation surrounding Werner’s arrival at the West London based outfit, the 24-year old will be in no position to help his new side seek a victory against Bayern Munich come Saturday. The German international is ineligible to be fielded by the Blues in the Champions League after having played this season’s European campaign with his former side, RB Leipzig.
Veteran striker Oliver Giroud, who has been enjoying a brilliant run of form post the lockdown period, was seen working on his shooting techniques in the Blues’ training routine. The 33-year old will be hoping to find the back of the net once again against Bayern, as has been the case so often with the Frenchman in recent weeks.
