Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has stated that the United States international, Christian Pulisic needs to focus on his own game at Stamford Bridge and not worry about new arrivals at the club.
With the transfer ban lifted, Chelsea will be looking to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window. Departures are on the cards as Brazil star Willian will run down his contract at the west London club at the end of the season. On the other hand, to replace Willian, Chelsea are lining up a move for his fellow countryman and former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
Chelsea has been heavily linked with moves to bring even more creativity, attackers, onto their books in the next transfer window for Frank Lampard to create a team that can challenge for the Premier League title.
A deal has already been wrapped up for Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, and the highly-rated 26-year-old winger is confirmed to join the Premier League side from Ajax in the summer. Ziyech is bound to provide added competition for the likes of Pulisic in an attacking position, with it possible that Coutinho could also be targeted after struggling to find a spark since leaving Merseyside giants Liverpool in January 2018.
The 28-year-old Brazilian playmaker is considered to be edging towards the exit doors at Barcelona, after struggling during his loan spell with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2019-20, and a return to the Premier League may be on the cards with Chelsea.
Pulisic has impressed for Chelsea after making a relatively slow start to his debut campaign in England and may feel his place at the club in jeopardy with new arrivals. However, Craig Burley has urged the 21-year-old has done enough to prove that he should be a regular under Frank Lampard.

While speaking to ESPN, the Scotsman said, “The American public should stop worrying or American soccer fans should stop worrying about whoever’s going to sign for Chelsea. Because either Christian Pulisic, like every other player, is going to be good enough to hold down a place in the team no matter who they sign, or he’s not. It’s as simple as that really. You shouldn’t as a player worry about who is going to be coming in.”
