Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho would likely love to return to the Premier League, according to his agent, although there are plenty of speculations over his future as Chelsea eye up a move for the former Liverpool star.
Brazilian international Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona, but the Bundesliga champions are not expected to make his move at the Allianz Arena permanent this campaign.
With Barcelona expected to want to sell the playmaker, who joined from Liverpool in a deal worth in the region of €160million in the January transfer window of 2018, it is believed a move back to England could be the most viable option for the 28-year-old.
London giants Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with a move for Coutinho in the summer transfer market. Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has hinted that his client would prefer a return to the English top-flight amid the transfer speculation around the South American.
While speaking to Sky Sports, Joorabchian said that Coutinho would be open to a return to the Premier League and Stamford Bridge seems like a possible destination. “After the Champions League game he played in England [when Bayern Munich beat Chelsea 3-0], we had a long chat about it. The Premier League is something that he has always enjoyed playing in, and loved playing in, and would probably love to come back and play in. The question is what are going to be the financial conditions of all the clubs, including Barcelona and all the Premier League clubs at the end of this pandemic.”
Frank Lampard’s side has done well this season and are clinging onto that fourth spot on the Premier League table. The Englishman will look for summer arrivals to bolster his squad for next campaign.
