Chelsea fans finally have something to get excited about after Leicester City confirms Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for a move to the Blues.
Chelsea agreed to sign the 25-year-old midfielder for £30 million.
Dewsbury-Hall was an important player under Enzo Maresca in their title-winning side at Leicester, and now he will link up with Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
David Ornstein from The Athletic has said that the deal between Chelsea and Leicester is set, and Dewsbury-Hall had his medical which was planned for June 30th.
He will surely add even greater value to a Chelsea midfield that has players like Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia.
His coming might mean Conor Gallagher has to leave, though.
Maresca’s was quite active in Chelsea’s pursuit of Dewsbury-Hall.
Last year, this English player was key for Leicester, scoring 12 goals and setting up 14 in 44 games in the Championship.

Playing on the left and acting as a number eight, Dewsbury-Hall did well because Maresca’s plan gave him space to shine.
His knack for creating chances in the attack zone and scoring goals made him super valuable to Leicester.
Chelsea do not have a Dewsbury-Hall sort of player at present.
Gallagher and Carney Chukwuemeka are maybe a little similar to him, but the defensive work, together with his technical ability and goal-scoring, puts Dewsbury-Hall in another category.
Moreover, he is left-footed, so he brings another dimension to Chelsea’s midfield options.
Given Chelsea are facing the tight schedule, potentially as high as 80 games next term because of the 2025 Club World Cup, Dewsbury-Hall’s experience of English football comes as another added plus.
Dewsbury-Hall knows the system and can easily fit into what Chelsea does.
The fans might be thinking that he may not be someone special, but with Dewsbury-Hall able to contribute in the required times at high technical standards, that in itself makes him a valuable addition.

In simple terms, Chelsea supporters can look forward to a creative, technically gifted player with a deep understanding of Maresca’s tactics.
Dewsbury-Hall, signed for under £30 million, sounds like a good buy.
While he will probably not improve the starting XI right away, his versatility and experience certainly strengthen Chelsea’s squad depth and also overall performance.
