Omari Hutchinson Set For Ipswich Move In Record Transfer Deal

Omari Hutchinson is set to sign for Ipswich Town after he will pass his medical.

The team made a deal with Chelsea for £22.5 million – first £20m and then another £2.5m extra over this deal.

Reports also have it that there is a sell-on clause in the agreement, which has made that the most expensive in the history of Ipswich.

An official announcement for the transfer is expected within a few days pending the successful completion of Hutchinson’s medical.

The move also provides Arsenal with an added advantage by earning them some percentage of the fee, all thanks to the sell-on clause enacted when Hutchinson was transferred from North London club to Chelsea in 2022.

Twenty-year-old Hutchinson spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Ipswich, where he netted 11 times from 50 appearances.

His commanding displays also contributed to boss Kieran McKenna’s team securing promotion to the top-flight.

An impressive run by Hutchinson, especially towards the end of the season in important games, won the hearts of the fans.

Interest to sign was also coming from some of the top clubs in Europe like Stuttgart, Ajax and Feyenoord but Hutchinson was easily persuaded by the chance to work under McKenna once more.

Therefore, continuity and familiarity made this deal appealing to Hutchinson as he had a chance to start shaping his Premier League career.
