Gleison Bremer a star center-back for Juventus is reportedly being pursued by Chelsea and Manchester United has hit a major roadblock in their pursuit of the player.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe Manchester United owner is eager to add quality players to the team this summer but Todd Boehly, the Chelsea owner seems to have made a snap decision.
Although United defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 on the last day of the season, their 2023–24 campaign came to an unhappy end. Their lowest-ever Premier League finish came in eighth place.
Under Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea on the other hand finished the season strong taking sixth place and exhibiting great growth and promise for the future.
Technical director Jason Wilcox is currently reviewing United manager Erik ten Hag’s tenure so his future is still up in the air. Although Ten Hag’s future may be affected by the outcome of the forthcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City, the club intends to make significant changes this summer.

Offloading some high earners like Casemiro to make room for new recruits is one of United’s major moves. Four marquee players—a defender, a midfielder, a striker and a right-winger—are the players Ratcliffe hopes to sign.
Gleison Bremer is one prospective defensive signing that has drawn United’s interest. With his performances for Juventus particularly after helping the team win the Coppa Italia and keeping a clean sheet against Atalanta, the 27-year-old Brazilian Bremer has impressed United scouts.
Despite his £60 million price tag, United is committed to obtaining his services particularly in light of Raphael Varane’s departure and the fact that his contract was not extended. Chelsea has now taken the lead in the competition for Bremer though.
Todd Boehly intends to take a more calculated approach by signing players who meet the team’s needs after taking lessons from previous transfer windows.
Bremer is the perfect replacement for Chelsea which is saying goodbye to veteran defender Thiago Silva.

In addition to agreeing to pay Juventus asking price, Boehly intends to ensure Bremer plays in the first team which is a big draw for the Brazilian.
Juventus is willing to sell because they need the money and they have already identified Riccardo Calafiori of Bologna as a possible £27 million replacement.
The Blues is currently in the lead to sign Gleison Bremer so the race for his signature is getting hotter. If Manchester United wants to sign the Serie A player they will have to move quickly to get him to Old Trafford.
The summer transfer window is expected to be a fascinating time for maneuvering and negotiating as both clubs are keen to bolster their defensive lines.
