Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino talked about his very first season at Chelsea. He is optimistic about the future if the team can ensure European competition next season.
Chelsea is caught up in the intense top-six finish competition, which would ensure the Blues a place in European competition.
Chelsea’s season has been a wild ride. Injuries and a young squad led to a mid-table spot for much of the year. But Pochettino’s pricey team has shown promise in recent weeks, quickly climbing the ranks. Pochettino praised their late-season form, saying they have done well in the last 26 or 27 games.
He expressed hope that if they can maintain that in the last two games, they have a chance of making it to European competition, which will be a great achievement for the team.
He said if they end the season strong and reach Europe, it will give them hope for a better next season. Pochettino also said midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka as well as defender Ben Chilwell are back to practice after being injured.

It’s unsure if they’ll play in the next game against Brighton & Hove Albion. If not, they might be back for the last game of the season with Bournemouth.
His reflection on his first season in charge was of the positives that there were, rather than the negatives. He hoped he could move away from the criticism over the age and inexperience of the squad and focus on the tactical evolution of the team.
He compared it to the lyrics in a Coldplay song when you feel you’re “stuck in reverse.” But he hoped they move forward and evolve positively.
People talked about his time at the club due to bad league form and losses to Man City in the FA Cup semi and to Liverpool in the League Cup final. But he said it was key to be real and have respect between him and the fans.
He closed by saying he had no doubt that with time, they would be able to get the results the club deserves and build the relationship between them and the fans. He believes that little by little, they can move forward to make a great relationship with the fans.
