Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino, seems to be claiming that there are difficulties for Madueke to have consistent game-time because of Cole Palmer’s sparkling performance and his own capturing the coach’s attention.
Even though the club has problems in general, Palmer has turned out to be star of the show, displacing Madueke who is lacking behind in the attention he is entitled to.
Pochettino, who replaced the squad full of talents brought by Todd Boehly’s aggressive transfer policy, saw himself with Palmer, the player who has been playing impressively since joining from Manchester City.
In August, Chelsea snapped up Palmer for £40 million, and the player has done exceptionally well with this move. The 21-year-old forward has achieved the most goal assists with 19 goals and 13 assists across 37 appearances in all competitions for the season. He has thus, earned the laurels as one of the season’s top players.

What is the current situation regarding Madueke at Chelsea?
If Madueke gets fewer minutes at Chelsea, he might have to look for a loan transfer to a football club that offers more playing time.
Through the international break which was recent, the England U21 international player has now and then showcased his abilities by scoring three goals and providing a total of two assists in games against Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
The UK’s U21 manager, Aidy Boothroyd, once stated that Madueke could progress to the level of Phil Foden, who became one of the world’s best players after receiving regular playing time at Manchester city.
On top of £29 million Chelsea invested to put Madueke on a contract of seven and a half years at Stamford Bridge, they paid extra £250k.
Nonetheless, the superlative mode of play by Palmer has limited his teammate Madueke’s satisfactory place in the playing eleven with the latter getting only 10 starts in his first full season at the club.
Pochettino’s statements are related to the complexity of handling a group of players which in turn creates a situation of emerging stars competing with each other for the same position as Madueke.
Chelsea will go through the turmoil of these issues, and Madueke will reach the crossroad of his career by signifying as a versatile player that Chelsea were unable to integrate.
