As reported by the club’s official website, Chelsea’s defender Bashir Humphreys signed a new contract with the Blues and then completed a loan move to Swansea City on transfer deadline day.
The 20-year-old has yet to feature in a Premier League match for Chelsea, but he did earn his first start of the season for the Blues in their Carabao Cup victory over League Two side Wimbledon on Wednesday night.
Last season, Humphreys spent the second half on loan at the German second-division team Paderborn, where he made 13 appearances for the club.
The youngster is set to make a switch to the Liberty Stadium, where he will wear the No 33 jersey for Swansea City. The Swans defeated competition from Stoke City to secure his services.

Humphreys, who was a member of the England Under-19 squad that clinched the European Championships in 2022, also played a prominent role in this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Chelsea have secured the player’s future with a new four-year contract, which also includes the possibility of an additional 12-month extension for the highly-rated defender.
Meanwhile, Stoke City expressed interest in strengthening their defensive options, with Swansea City also eyeing a potential move of Josh Tymon before the transfer deadline.
