Marcelino, the new Marseille boss, is said to have pushed for the signing and is counting on the centre-forward to lead the team’s frontline.

The striker’s time at Stamford Bridge has been challenging since he was signed by Thomas Tuchel, who was later dismissed a few months after the transfer.
His performance struggled to impress, partly due to Chelsea’s poor form throughout the season, resulting in limited chances for him. Despite Barcelona’s interest in reacquiring him in January, the Blues refused to let him go.
Now, Aubameyang is eager for a fresh start and a chance to revive his career with a club that believes in his abilities.
The allure of Marseille was too tempting for him to resist, despite interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) and Saudi Arabian clubs.
