Romelu Lukaku could be offered a Chelsea lifeline under the soon-to-be new manager Mauricio Pochettino who is close to making the move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are looking to wrap up talks with the former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Pochettino with the Argentine set to become the third permanent manager at the Bridge in the last 10 months.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Pochettino’s appointment to the Chelsea hot seat could have ramifications for the out of favour Blues striker Romelu Lukaku who was shipped out on loan to Inter Milan last summer.
Inter have decided not to renew the Belgian’s contract beyond the coming summer window and Lukaku will be asked whether or not he wants to try to revive his career in the Chelsea shirt under proposed head coach Pochettino’s charge.
Lukaku had made it clear that he did not want to turn out under the then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel after the duo had a falling out in the former’s first season back in the Premier League with the Blues.
