Chelsea are keen on signing Arsenal’s top January transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk with the two London sides set to compete on the transfer front for the Shakhtar Donetsk winger.
The Gunners had been pushing for landing Mudryk’s signature ahead of the January window and the Premier League table toppers tabled their first formal offer worth in the region of £55 million including add-ons.
According to a report from The Guardian, it is claimed that Graham Potter’s Chelsea are also mulling over joining the chase for the Ukrainian international as the Blues look to reinforce their front line before the January 31 deadline.
Chelsea could now pose a serious threat to Mikel Arteta’s North Londoners for Mudryk despite assurances from Mudryk’s agent to Arsenal that his client wants to make the move to the Emirates over any other suitor.
Potter has been on the hunt for the perfect signing to provide the much-needed firepower in the attacking third of the pitch after the Stamford Bridge camp offloaded both Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku last summer.
