Premier League outfit Chelsea and La Liga giants Barcelona are prepared to make a swap deal for Brazilian duo of Malcolm and Willian in the upcoming transfer window.
The two attacking players aren’t able to get the best out of themselves from their respective clubs and preparing to switch sides in January itself.
Having taken over from fellow Italian Antonio Conte in the summer Maurizio, Sarri has transformed Chelsea and instilled his philosophy into each and every player at the football club. The pundits and fans across Europe are very impressed with Chelsea at the moment as their beautiful football playing style has matched up with results, sitting 3rd on the Premier League table. The only couple of worrying things that Chelsea are facing at the moment among Eden Hazard’s future at the club and Alvaro Morata’s lack of goalscoring. But another major cause of concern is the current form of Brazilian winger Willian who looks destined for an exit soon.
Willian has been struggling to find his best of form this season under Sarri as his three assists and two goals have not been able to back the outings he has shown over the past few seasons. The 30-year-old came under heavy speculation when Barcelona was keen on his services last term. Willian also revealed that playing at the Camp Nou was to make his dream come true making it seem inevitable that a move to Spain was on the cards. The La Liga giants made three offers for Willian with the last one reaching a fee of £55 million but Chelsea was adamant that their star winger was not leaving the club anytime soon. Barcelona could be back with another offer for Willian sometime in the January transfer window and it would make sense for Chelsea to allow Willian a move away from the English capital.
At Barcelona, one player who was deemed to be the heir to Lionel Messi’s throne, Malcolm, has had quite a torrid time in Catalonia. The Brazilian arrived from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in the summer but has barely got an opportunity to perform and Malcolm is already regretting a move to the Camp Nou. The 21 year old winger has scored just one goal and the lack of football could force a move away from Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
Chelsea and Barcelona could consider swapping Malcolm and Willian in January as the two Brazilian wingers seem to be misfits as their respective clubs. Malcolm is much younger in comparison to Willian and will be a lot quicker but Sarri will have to develop his gameplay if he comes to Chelsea. At Barcelona, Willian is already nearing the twilight years of his career but he has the experience of playing football at the highest level.
