Chelsea are reportedly right in the mix to land AC Milan skipper Alessio Romagnoli on a free transfer this coming summer with the Blues on the hunt for a new defensive signing.
Thomas Tuchel is set to lose both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger come the end of the season and the Chelsea manager is likely to dip into the market for reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.
It is understood that Romagnoli, who is in line to leave the AC Milan fold when the season comes to a close, is a top name on the shopping list for Tuchel following his superb set of displays in Italy’s top flight, according to Mundo Deportivo ( via Metro).
Romagnoli has turned down attempts from AC Milan to renew his terms beyond the summer with some of the biggest clubs across Europe keeping close tabs on the Italy international centre-back in a potential Bosman deal.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Sevilla and Barcelona also remain interested in launching a bid for the AC Milan contract rebel which could complicate matters on the transfer front for Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel.
