Chelsea fear over Mason Mount links with Manchester City

As per reports from SUN, Chelsea’s emerging star midfielder has generated interest from the Premier League giants in Manchester City, along with Liverpool.

The Englishman has been Chelsea’s shining performer and one of Tuchel’s key players, but the Blues are worried about losing one of their most essential assets.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have already left Stamford Bridge, and Mason Mount might be the next player to leave.

The reason for the players’ departure is the club’s uncertain future as a result of sanctions placed on the capital side.

As a result of Roman Abramovich’s suspension from Chelsea, the club will be unable to conduct business, as the Russian billionaire’s club has been barred from engaging in any activity by the government.

Liverpool are also on the search for a young midfielder in the summer and Jurgen Klopp won’t be opposed if receives the opportunity to sign Mount.

Since his debut in July 2019, the 23-year-old has made a major impact. Until now, the midfielder has been a consistent member of the team’s starting XI.

The capital club are unable to offer their young playmaker a new deal, therefore City may attempt to recruit him if the current scenario is not rectified before the summer.

Fernandinho, Man City’s captain, will be departing the Etihad Stadium sooner rather than later, and the five-time Premier League winner may consider Mount as a tempting transfer target in the coming window.

Pepe Guardiola has seen the progress of the midfielder in the top-flight as well as in the England national side and the Spanish manager would love to give him game time in his thrilling City side.
