Stamford Bridge returnee Romelu Lukaku is reportedly unlikely to make the starting team sheet against Manchester United on Sunday.
Despite his return to the Chelsea fold from a hamstring injury and being named in the matchday squad last time around in Champions League action against Juventus, Lukaku is yet to work his way back to full fitness.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the west Londoners are doubtful to draft Lukaku on the starting team sheet come Sunday against bitter rivals Manchester United who make the travels to the English capital.
“The possibility he starts is not very high because we can’t be sure what happens in the match and we have to find the balance to giving minutes and being absolutely competitive for 90 minutes.”
The Belgium international, who made the move back to Chelsea in this summer’s transfer window from Inter Milan, has been on the sidelines prior to the recent international break with hamstring trouble.
