Chelsea wing-back Ben Chilwell’s knee injury against Juventus could be set to sideline him for the remainder of the ongoing campaign.
The England international had limped off the pitch at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night in the Champions League group stage fixture which finished in a 4-0 win for Thomas Tuchel’s men.
Tuchel had sounded out hope in the aftermath of his side’s win that Chilwell’s injury could be deemed a minor one with the defender expected to work his way back to full fitness which does not look like the case right now.
According to reports from The Guardian, it is claimed that the Blues camp will early await further information on Chilwell’s injury with suspected anterior cruciate ligament damage possibly ruling out the former Leicester City man for what remains of this season.
Chilwell has been a vastly influential figure for Thomas Tuchel’s side of late despite starting the season serving as the second fiddle to Spain international Marcos Alonso who was slotted in the left wing-back role for an extended period.
