Germany international defender Antonio Rudiger is understood to be closing in on calling it quits with Chelsea with a move to Real Madrid on the cards for the player.
Despite Chelsea’s repeated attempts to tie down their first-team star regular to extended terms beyond the next summer, Rudiger is expected to go ahead with his decision to leave the Stamford Bridge camp.
La Liga bigwigs Real Madrid have been joined by the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit for Rudiger but it is claimed by Spanish news outlet Marca that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are best placed to land Rudiger’s signature.
Rudiger is believed to be keen on getting a major bump in his wages which is something Chelsea will not be able to offer the German and could be the reason behind his potential exit to sign for his suitors Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old centre-back has been one of the top performers for the Blues since Thomas Tuchel took over at the Bridge earlier in this year from club icon Frank Lampard.
