Southampton register interest in signing Tammy Abraham on loan

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has found a new admirer in Southampton for this summer’s transfer window in which the player has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel’s desire to bring in fresh blood for his attacking department has already meant the exit of Olivier Giroud from the Chelsea camp and speculation is rife that Abraham is next in line to seal his exit.

Even as new reports suggest that Serie A outfit Atalanta have identified the 23-year-old Abraham as a key target this summer, Southampton have also found their Danny Ings replacement in the Chelsea man, according to TalkSport.

Ings has made a shock move to fellow Premier League side Aston Villa and with his exit, Southampton are lacking some serious firepower up top on the pitch which has made Abraham’s availability of strong interest to the boss Ralph Hasenhüttl.

The Saints are understood to be keen on taking on the Stamford Bridge outcast this summer on a season-long loan agreement and are in line to give competition to Atalant for landing the player’s signature.
