The Premier league has kicked-off for Chelsea pretty well. With a 3-0 win over the Terriers, Chelsea began their campaign on high. This week they’ll be playing against the Gunners and we can expect a tough battle between the two top teams of the Premier league. The battle will be between the top strikers; top midfielders;top goalkeepers and top defenders.
It will be toe to toe battle between two top level defenders David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
David Luiz
David Luiz kept his place in Chelsea despite being linked to other clubs. His physical strength, composure with the ball and confidence on the field will count for the Blues. The Gunners will have to be aware of defensive midfielder’s ability to pass long balls after tackling it from the opponents.
He will have to perform to his full potential if he wants to stop the Gunners from donning the game. The likes of Aubameyang, Mkhitariyan and Lacazette would be stopped with his strength and vigour. The Brazilian has adopted outrageously to the new philosophy of Sarri and has shown positive intent in the field.
Sokratis
The Greek Warrior was recently signed by Unai Emery in view of improving the poor defence of the squad from last season. Sokratis welcomed the challenge with both hands and agreed on improving the fragile defence of the Gunners. The Greek has joined his former team mates Aubameyang and Mkhitariyan who used to play together in Dortmund.
The experience of the defender will be a key to stop Chelsea from scoring. His leadership skills will be important both in and out the field, of the Gunners have to DON the field. Sokratis will have to showcase the same defensive skills and agility that he used for Borussia Dortmund, ceasing the ball to go past him. The Chelsea forward’s will have to have a ‘B’ plan in order to go past the Greek Warrior.
The Battle of the skills will judge the true composure and confidence both the defenders possess and the best one to hold the composure will ‘surely strive his team to glory.’
