Chelsea’s keeper, Kepa Arrizabalga kept a clean sheet in the friendly match of Spain against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. The young keeper started in the goal for Spain and had a content display between the sticks. After the match was over, he aimed a sly dig at his Chelsea coach at the press conference.
The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order under the coach, Frank Lampard due to his inconsistent performances. Furthermore, the arrival of Edouard Mendy which saw a £22million transfer deal has put more pressure on him.
Two years ago, Arrizablaga became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world by signing for the Blues from the Spanish club, Athletic Bilbao at £71.6million.
On speaking about his dropping out of the squad in Chelsea, he said that he feels much confidence when playing under a coach who is confident in his abilities.
“I’ve felt confidence, at ease with Spain. I think it was a good game and I’m happy with the confidence of the coach.”
“When I’m needed to help on the pitch, I try to do the best possible. It was a game of great intensity,”said the Chelsea keeper as per Goal reports.
It clearly shows the relationship of the Chelsea coach with the keeper as there are rumours that the club might loan him in the future.
