Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have a dead rubber tie in a Champions League group stage outing come Wednesday against Russian giants Zenit.
The Blues were handed a defeat last time around when they took on city rivals West Ham United in league action with Tuchel’s men dropping down to third in the league table.
Let us now have a look at how Thomas Tuchel might set up his Chelsea side on Wednesday –
3-4-2-1
Kepa will be in line to earn a rare start between the goalposts for Chelsea with Tuchel expected to ring in changes at the back for his side.
Trevoh Chalobah and Cesar Azpilicueta are tipped for starting roles in the defensive lineup with Antonio Rudiger set for some well-earned rest.
In midfield, N’Golo Kante’s fitness levels will be subject to further assessment and with Mateo Kovacic out injured, Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be set to retain their starting berths.
Romelu Lukaku will have to get firing again in front of the goal sooner rather than later with the Belgian expected to lead the line in the midweek game.
