Wolves vs Chelsea: Chelsea player ratings

Kepa Arrizabalaga 5

Didn’t have much to do in the first half, distribution of the ball was good as usual by the Spanish international. Should have done better when he spilled Roman Saiss’ header which led to an own goal by Tammy Abraham

Antonio Rudiger 7

Showed why his return was so highly awaited with a composed display in the first half. Can improve his passing but brilliant at one on one situations. Went off in the second half with a groin injury and is a doubt for the clash against Valencia

Andreas Christensen 6.5

Returned to the side after missing out against Sheffield United and played in the position he looks most comfortable in, the center of a back three. Looked comfortable in possession and made some good tackles. Booked

Fikayo Tomori 7.5

Scored what could be the best goal of his career with a brilliant dipping long-range strike to open the scoring, grew in confidence and his run on the left led to Chelsea’s second goal.

Cesar Azpilicueta 7

Silenced his doubters with a solid performance in a wing-back role, got in good positions and made some good runs. Most importantly was solid defensively after a shaky start to the season.

Marcos Alonso 6.5

Emerson’s injury may have played a part in Lampard switching to back three with Alonso more comfortable playing Croatian in a back three formation. Adama Traore got the better of him a few times. Good cross for Tammy Abraham to score his second goal.

Jorginho 7

Never looks nervous in possession of the ball and is showing another side to his game this season, made some clever passes and even looked better defensively

Mateo Kovacic 6.5

Industrious performance by the Croatian international. Dribbled with the ball well and won the ball back in some threatening positions. Will want to contribute more in the final third

Mason Mount 8

Continued his dream start to the season. Lovely first touch and turn which led to Abraham’s first goal. Could have scored early in the first half when he went past goalkeeper Rui Patricio but slipped and scuffed his shot into the side netting. Finally got his goal in stoppage time when he cut outside the defender and scored.

Tammy Abraham 9

Truly has announced himself in the Premier League with a hattrick. The first goal was a poachers goal when he turned inside the penalty area and scored a well-placed shot. Scored a powerful header for his second. Showed another element to his game when he held the ball and skipped past the defender to score a brilliant third.
