What are Chelsea FC players doing amid Covid-19?

Chelsea’s recent matches against Liverpool in the FA Cup and against Everton gave some hope and encouragement to their fans and just when they anticipated a comeback, the pandemic [COVID-19], spreading like wildfire, put brakes to all their hopes, even though these hopes are eventually pipe dreams.

Forced to self-quarantine, let us look at the lives of some of our favorite men in Blue during this difficult period which has taken a massive toll on football, sports and the world as a whole.

Cristian Pulisic

Chelsea’s promising youngster Cristian Pulisic marked his TikTok debut with a hilarious Stay At Home Challenge. To overcome this boredom whilst self-quarantine, the American international decided to join this video platform, and made an impactful and hilarious debut.

In this video, the winger is seen with a football and then goes on to showcase his skills, juggling with the ball. Just then, he loses control and falls onto the ground and then erupts in laughter. Fans too, were left in splits, and many of them urged the Blues’ sensation to not get injured again.

Marcos Alonso

Soccer players from some of the world’s best clubs have started juggling toilet paper to pass the time as part of the “toilet paper challenge,” also known as the “10 touch challenge” or “#stayathomechallenge.” But instead of juggling, Chelsea left back and Spanish national team star Marcos Alonso used his toilet paper roll for some target practice.

He could be seen hitting a bottle with a toilet paper roll from a distance with utmost perfection (The background score was also perfect for the scene!). This just reminds us of the spectacular bottom corner goals against Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur (Doesn’t matter if it’s a ball or a toilet paper, Alonso will always find the bottom corner with ease!).

Mason Mount

Mason Mount was nominated to take the Home Top Bin Challenge and picked out the wastepaper basket with aplomb, hitting a sniper. It is considered to be the cleanest connection with a toilet roll, with the Portsmouth born midfielder having a knack of hitting the top corner on many occasions.

He was even warned by his team for ignoring self-isolation advice to play football with his best mate, West Ham star, Declan Rice, with a Chelsea Spokesman, reminding him of his responsibilities.

Callum Hudson Odoi

England international Callum Hudson Odoi, who was contracted with Covid-19, has fully recovered from this deadly disease according to reports. The entire Blues first-team, coaches and support staff have entered self-isolation after Hudson tested positive for coronavirus. He said that he is now feeling well and will continue to self-isolate.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Azpilicueta gave us all a strong message to stay at home and asked his fans to comment on the activities they do at home so that he could take some cue to overcome his boredom. He has now engaged himself in a football puzzle, going by the name of ‘Wasgij’.

Tammy Abraham, Billy Gilmour and Reece James

Tammy Abraham, Billy Gilmour and Reece James were among the Chelsea players who took part in the “toilet paper challenge” and could be seen juggling the toilet roll with utmost ease. Gilmour could also be seen attempting a scissor kick to perfection. Abraham, Jorginho and Rudiger focused on their fitness by cycling rigorously with a cardiovascular machine and Tammy even lauded all the cyclists who cycle daily.

Jorginho

Jorginho, in addition to keeping himself fit, could also be seen mentoring his children and teaching them some exercises. The adorable way in which his daughter obeyed his super daddy’s instructions was surely a sight to behold.

Willian

Willian chose to use a ball instead of a toilet roll to showcase his immaculate dribbling skills and even flaunted some of his unique tricks with precision.

So here’s how the players from West London chose to spend their time during this period of self-isolation. The fans are yearning for some action and are eager to witness a full strength team destroy all opponents and rise atop (Pipedreams!) post corona-era.
