Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side are due a stern test in the form of city foes and fellow top-four challengers West Ham United as both sides go head to head at the London Stadium with their eye on the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot in the standings.
The Blues had dropped valuable points last time around in their goalless stalemate at home to Brighton whereas West Ham had endured a shock defeat at the hands of Newcastle United meaning that both teams would be gunning for the win come Saturday.
Let us take a look at how Thomas Tuchel may set his team up for the crunch fixture against the Hammers-
3-4-3
Eduoard Mendy is tipped to retain the goalkeeping spot after being rested for the previous outing in which Tuchel had opted to bring in Kepa between the sticks for the west London giants.
Andres Christensen’s return to action was subject to plaudits for his showing against Brighton and the Danish defender should find himself starting in defence alongside Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicutta, the latter of whom was on the bench last time around.
Tuchel will have a major decision on his hands in the form of fielding his right wing-back with both Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi making their case for it.
N’Golo Kante is another name that would be inching close to a return to the starting eleven after being benched for the Brighton clash and lack of goals in recent times could mean that either Hakim Ziyech or Kai Havertz give way for Timo Werner to come in.
