West Ham United remain involved in talks with Chelsea over landing the signature of long-term target Kurt Zouma who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
The France international centre-back has been eyed up by David Moyes who is understood to be looking to improve upon his existing options at the back by signing a fresh face.
There had been reports earlier that had suggested that The Hammers were priced out of a move for the Chelsea man and could be set to look at other alternatives with Zouma’s wage demands deemed too high by the Londoners.
Gianluigi Longari has now claimed that West Ham United are still pushing for a deal to sign the 25-year-old Frenchman and a transfer could take place in the next few days if the talks go well between the two parties.
Zouma’s exit from the Chelsea camp before the transfer window slams shut later this month could ensure Thomas Tuchel stepping up his efforts to bring in Jules Kounde from La Liga giants Sevilla.
