West Ham United’s midfield maestro Declan Rice has his heart set on a return to Chelsea this summer despite Manchester United’s interest in courting his signature.

Rice is increasingly likely to depart the Hammers camp ahead of the start of the next season and make the move to a top four club in the Premier League with Liverpool joining the race alongside Chelsea and United for the 23-year-old.

According to a claim from Miguel Delaney’s Independent newsletter ( via The Daily Express), however, Rice is keen on re-signing for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side eight years after he was released by the Stamford Bridge giants.

The England international camp up through the academy ranks at Chelsea who are now looking at their youth talent as a top name on the shortlist with Tuchel on the hunt for midfield reinforcements.

Uncertainty over Saul Niguez’s loan spell in the English capital beyond the summer has the Chelsea gaffer Tuchel scouting the transfer market for a viable alternative to shore up his options in the centre of the park.
