Werner has got the endurance to play full 90 minutes, says Frank Lampard

Timo Werner’s brace helped Chelsea to retain their top spot in their Champions League group and also helped to take his personal goal tally to seven numeric digits in all competitions. With his two penalties and a goal from Tammy Abraham, Chelsea defeated the French side 3-0 in Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea coach, Lampard was hoping to give some rest to Werner in the weekend but a sudden unexpected injury to Christian Pulsiic forced him to start the game. He again played a full 90 minutes against Rennes and the fans are assuming that it might be exhaustible for Werner to play every 90 minutes of the games.

“We haven’t really had a pre-season so we had the benefit that he could train and had that period with him and Hakim. I think we’re seeing with Timo that he’s fit, adapting quickly to the rigors of the Premier League, and working for our team out so it was a bonus,” said Lampard as per Metro news.

“He’s been easy for me, easy to manage, he works, plays well, I left him on the pitch today because I feel he’s got the endurance to play 90 minutes and I’m very happy with him.”

Everyone was surprised again when they say the German striker in the first XI against Rennes as Pulsic will be unavailable until the International break and Kai Havertz is in self-isolation after getting positive on the COVID-19 test while Hakim Ziyech is getting his way back to his full form.

Maximum five substitutions in European matches this season are permitted to the managers and Werner got another full match to play and that can be concerning. He is a crucial player for the bLues and any injury or anything will cause distress to Lamnaprd in upcoming important matches. If the situations go like this, Werner will soon face burnout and that will surely affect his health conditions.
