United boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on launching a bid for Chelsea star Mason Mount whose future at Stamford Bridge hangs in the balance.
Mount is likely to demand a move elsewhere when the transfer window reopens for business come the summer with the England midfielder not willing to accept a lower salary package compared to some of the highest earners in the Chelsea camp.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, it is claimed that the Red Devils manager Ten Hag has given his nod to move in for the unsettled Blues playmaker who also has Liverpool and Arsenal chasing his signature ahead of the summer window.
Chelsea, however, are understood to be looking for an amount closer to £85 million in order to part company with the 24-year-old Mount this summer and it remains to be seen whether United will increase their offer considering Ten Hag’s determination to add Mount to his squad.
Liverpool were previously considered the clear frontrunners for Mount’s services but it appears that the Merseysiders will have to compete with arch-rivals Manchester United to sign the Englishman.
