Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are in line to feature on Saturday in the Champions League final clash against Manchester City.
Kante had missed the dying stages of the recently concluded Premier League season owing to a hamstring niggle that he had picked up during the win over Leicester City in the penultimate league fixture for the Blues.
Meanwhile, Mendy had to be withdrawn at half-time in the final day loss to Aston Villa with the Chelsea No.1 suffering a rib injury as he collided with the frame of the goal.
But in what is a massive boost to Thomas Tuchel’s selection ahead of the pivotal weekend showdown in Porto, the Chelsea manager has admitted to both first-team regulars being in the fray to make the XI for Chelsea when they take on the Premier League champions Manchester City.
‘N’Golo is looking good and I hope he stays like that for Saturday,’ said Tuchel to the club’s official website.
‘Edou made a huge improvement with the management of pain from when the injury happened, which is good. We hope to have him back. If he is fit, then Edou will play.’
