Timo Werner ready to feature in the UEFA Nations League match against Ukraine

German players are currently in a place called Saxony city which is quite familiar to Chelsea’s striker, Timo Werner as he has spent his years here as an RB Leipzig player. Werner is well accustomed to this area as he spent four years with his former club. He is again there to feature against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League game.

The German team is in the second position of the group now, a point more than Spain and level with Andriy Shevchenko’s team. Although Werner missed the last game against the Czech Republic where the Germans won, the coach has said about starting him in this match as he has linked up quite well. Werner even scored a classic goal against Spain and undoubtedly an asset for any team.

The last match saw Chelsea’s defender, Toni Rudiger getting game time under Joachim Low and the 24 years old is looking forward to feature again in Leipzig. He is very eager to get back to winning terms as they have only secured one win until now.

‘I’ve really been looking forward to coming back here,’ he said. ‘It felt a little like I was coming home after being on holiday. I always like returning to Leipzig so international games here are always twice as special for me.

‘The Nations League was introduced so that you have competitive games against other very good teams. It’s a good test, especially ahead of the Euros.

‘When you’re taking part in a competition, you always want to win and finish first in the group, qualify for the final four and then win that as well. That is the kind of success that brings a team together and helps it to improve,’ said Werner as per the Official Chelsea website.

Werner has produced impressive displays for the Chelsea team till now, netting eight goals in his first 12 matches for Chelsea. He is confident that he will score more as he will adapt fully to the League and the new club.
