Chelsea striker Timo Werner reveals his unhappiness with the performance his team gave in the first half. Chelsea played their away game against West Bromwich which ended in a 3-3 draw.
The home side netted thrice in 27 minutes and looked like to defeat Chelsea surprisingly after two disastrous Premier League games they had. But everything changed in the second half as Chelsea turned the tide upside down and went to make a comeback.
Mason Mount and Callum Hudson Odoi re-ignited the hopes of the blues after making the scoreline 3-2 which was equalized by Tammy Abraham in the added minutes of the game.
Despite the comeback, Werner had a lacklustre performance and is not at all happy with the first half displays from his team.
The £47 million summer signing Werner started the match leading the attack line of Chelsea but was unable to grab any goal. This was due to a reduced number of opportunities for him in the opposition area.
The young German striker is still about to score his first Premier League goal after joining from RB Leipzig this summer. He says he had mixed emotions about this game after the draw against West Brom.
Like all other Chelsea fans, the young striker was utterly frustrated and took his frustration out on Instagram just after the game.
Werner wrote to the Chelsea fans: ‘We never give up Chelsea! Absolutely unhappy with our performance but great fighting spirit.’
Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard was biting his nails as Chelsea conceded goals after goals in the first half. He said that his team still need major improvements in some areas but hailed the second-half display to make the comeback.
Chelsea will travel to face Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup’s fourth round after hammering down Barnsley 6-0.
