Chelsea FC outcast Tiemoue Bakayoko has publicly admitted to his intention of signing for AC Milan this summer. In a recent interview, the 25-year old expressed fondness over his previous stint at the Italian side, which the Frenchman described as ‘excellent’. Bakayoko had spent the 2018-19 season on loan at the Rossoneri, becoming a first-team regular in the process.
“Everyone knows that Milan is in my heart and I have good memories.
“At the moment I’m a Chelsea player, then we’ll see in football.”
The Rossoneri had passed on the opportunity to make Bakayoko’s loan spell at San Siro a permanent one last summer. Following that, the French international had been subsequently shipped off to AS Monaco by the Blues. Bakayoko did regain some consistency in his form while playing for his former side in Ligue 1 this past season.
The midfielder’s recent remarks come in light of rumors suggesting that the Serie A outfit are set to table a loan offer for him. AC Milan are understood to be wanting to sign Bakayoko on a season-long loan deal this summer. However, an option to buy the 25-year old for £32 million is reported to be included in the proposed agreement.
The midfielder is almost certain to be offloaded by Frank Lampard ahead of next season. The Blues coach is believed to have been unimpressed by Bakayoko’s ability to break into the club’s first-team squad in the presence of more able midfield options at Stamford Bridge.
