Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe and Sevilla duo Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos are the names that have been eyed up by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to improve upon his defensive options heading into the new season.
The Blues are at risk of losing out on three of their current first-team defensive names in Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and the veteran Thiago Silva next summer with the trio’s deals running out at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

Despite Chelsea’s priority this summer understood to be on finding a big-name forward to instil the cutting edge for the west Londoners in the final third of the pitch, reports from Fichajes suggest that Tuchel will be equally keen on shoring up his options at the back.
Kounde is a hot prospect this summer with the young Frenchman attracting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United and Kounde’s fellow Sevilla central defender Diego Carlos too seems to have caught Tuchel’s eye following his performances in the La Liga subject to much praise.
Rounding up the list is PSG first-team star Kimpembe who has been a mainstay in the defence for the Parisians since Thiago Silva left the Ligue 1 giants to sign for Chelsea last summer.
