Brazilian defender Thiago Silva joined the Chelsea FC in this summer transfer window as coach Frank Lampard wanted to add some experience to his leaky defence, which was a major headache for him throughout last season.
The 36-year-old defender joined the Stamford Bridge on a one-year deal with an option to extend one more year at the club. Since his move, Silva has started to get accustomed to the new club and teammates.
Recently he posted an Instagram story that clearly shows how much his new club is on his mind even when he’s away playing for his international side, Brazil.
While being away due to the international call, Silva showed off his customized shin pads for Chelsea on his story on Instagram.
The former PSG man was instrumental in his team’s journey to the Champions League finals last season and proved that he still got what it needs to be on the top of the game.
The Brazilian International now on the wrong side of the 30s didn’t get off to a good start on his Premier League debut as he made a big mistake which gave the opponent an easy chance to score.
He recovered well in the next match against Crystal Palace where Chelsea won 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
If he delivers similar performances like that, the fans of Chelsea will undoubtedly elated and it won’t take much time to fall in love with their new centre back.
